Motivational Monday #6

So first of all, this is really awkward but I may have accidently deleted last weeks 'Motivational Monday'. Silly me! It's annoying because now it looks like I missed one haha. Anyways on to this weeks Inspiring words...

This has without a doubt been my favourite quote of the week. Lately I have been feeling a bit 'meh' about life because I am not exactly where I want to be or who I want to be. I want to have a full time permanent teaching job, I want to move out and not depend on my parents so much, I want to be more independent and grown up, I need more female friends, the list goes on. I have this precise image of the character I wish I was and sometimes I feel rubbish that I am not that person. However, this quote reminded me that it does not matter if you are not exactly who you wish you were, what does matter is that you have that vision. You have those high expectations for yourself. You are open to change and development. You are constantly trying to improve yourself. You have that determination and ambition to be that person. That is what matters.
The other day I was reading a blog post on Scarphelia (which is one of my favourite blogs) and stubbled  across one of the most striking quotes I have read in a long time.
A quote by Ada Lovelace:
"Though I see nothing but vague and cloudy uncertainty in the foreground of being, I fancy I discern a very bright light a good way further on, and this makes me care much less about the cloudiness and indistinctness which is near"
No matter how bad today may be or how unhappy you might be with your current situation. If you can see that 'light'. If you can visualise a future that you know you will get to one day then there is no way you won't. That dream, that hope, that drive and determination is what will help you to overlook the things about 'today' that you are unhappy with and in turn help you to enjoy the present more.

So true. At times I feel like I'll never be "on top" of things. But really, is anyone? The more we worry and compare ourselves to others the more time appreciating what we have is wasted. It's hard to think about sometimes, but everything works out the way it's supposed to.
