Would You Rather?

28 Aug 2013

Hey Everyone!
So I saw this going around and I thought it looked like fun so I said I'd give it a go :) I am a bit of a sucker for 'tag' type 'get to know me' posts for some reason.
Feel free to do it too if you would like!

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
I would rather not lose my palettes because I spent more on palettes than anything else and they would cost more to replace!

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
Probably chop it all off, I could do it for charity and it will always grow back. My hair would look AWFUL if I never cut it again...imagine all this frizzy ends, twould be disastrous!

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I wouldn't mind, I like both! Imma go with coral though :)

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Probably clothes because they make more of a statement than make-up and you could get lots of lovely things with a grand! *begins to dream*

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Wow, both sound absolutely terrifying. I will say lipstick as eyeliner because I could probably blend it out to make it look like eye shadow, but then it would most likely look like I had an eye infection!

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Sephora because they have all different kinds of make-up including MAC am I right? but technically speaking there is no Sephora anywhere near me so I would have to choose MAC unless I wanted to never buy make-up again!

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
Probably eye shadow because I generally only use colours from the same spectrum of neutrals, but I really should start becoming more adventurous with my eye shadow!

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Winter clothes in summer because this is an Irish summer I'm talkin' about... I'd probably still be cold!

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright! I'm not a huge fan of a dark nail!

10.) Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Lip because I love my favourite eye product more. I don't really have a lip product I'm in love with!

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Ponytail! I feel like people would notice more if I wore a bun ALL the time, they wouldn't notice my repetition of a pony tail as much.(I have no clue where I get this idea from)

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
Never use lipgloss! I could still use lipstick and lip stain. I hate lip gloss anyways, and never painting my nails again...that would be sad!

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Sharpie everyday, my eyebrows are a very dark and thick so ya probably wouldn't notice the sharpie!

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
What do you think? do people look at your face or your nails more?! :P

I got a kitten!

27 Aug 2013

Hey everyone!
Meet my new little kitten Mittens :)
I never really wanted a kitten, I'm definitely a dog person but I was at a local fair on Sunday and they were giving away some kittens to a good home for free. I thought they were so cute and especially loved the colour of this one and my dad agreed to get one for my nieces to play with, so we brought her home!
She's actually a pretty kool kat haha, loves playing with anything really but does spend most of her day asleep, but she is just a little baby after all!
I'm excited because I haven't had a pet in years and I haven't had a cat in even longer!
Do you have any pets?

Time Flies | My thoughts on becoming a teacher.

22 Aug 2013

Hey Everyone,
OK this is a bit of a random rambling post from me about how I am feeling recently. I know a lot of you won't read this. But this is my blog to do what I wish with and I wish to get these thoughts out of my head and onto paper (so to speak) maybe then I can understand how I feel, you know what I mean? sometimes it helps just to write things out.

So I'm starting college next week, well not 'starting' starting. I've already done my undergrad; yup I have already done three years in college.
It literally feels like yesterday I was in my final year of school freaking out (well not really) about my leaving cert and how hard it was going to be and whether or not I would get enough points to do arts. It is hard to believe that it was way back in 2010 when I was last in school.
I remember those long school days so clearly. Sitting outside in the sun with my friends, being constantly yelled at to  'get off the lawn' by our hilariously silly Vice Principle.
Dosing in Art class with Maria, Iosac and Philip (or Ronand as we liked to call him) we had such fun in that class, and I still miss it to this day.
I remember the trouble the boys used to cause our French teacher, by sticking the board wiper to the ceiling and what not.
Oh how I remember those maths classes where everyone was so hopeless and my teacher absolutely loved me for looking like a genius in comparison.
English, where I lusted over a boy I liked (who is now my boyfriend) who helped me read the teachers incredibly bad writing on the board.
Geography where I either talked to my friends or fell asleep most of the time because the teacher was so boring (ironic that I went on to study Geography eh?)
The memories go on...our table in the canteen, sausage rolls, our school play, going home on the bus with Aisling, cooking in home-ec, how my Irish teacher never failed to make me laugh every-single-day.
Looking back now, I remember school fondly. I remember it as a good time full of friendship, fun and no responsibilities (apart from doing home-work) Of course there were things about school I hated when I was there and I couldn't wait to get away from.
But in all honestly, looking back now, secondary school was a very happy time in my life, I didn't realise that at the time but now to this day, I am still sad that its over and that I will never be going back.
Well not as a student anyways.
And that's where I come to the point of this post, although there isn't really one, I am just acknowledging how fast life passes by and time catches up on you.
I will be going back to that school, but this time as a teacher. In my teaching practice for my Postgraduate Diploma in Education. I honestly find this crazy. I am going to be teaching there now, what?!! I knew this was going to happen some day, but when I imagined it in school I pictured it in the distant future, where I would be a much more mature and sophisticated person with a much different life to I had then.
That's why I can't believe I'm starting this now because I feel like I am exactly the same person I was when I was a student there. Maybe others on the outside would say I have changed and matured but I honestly do not feel like I have. Yes I have the experience of college under my belt now, but I feel like I have the same attitude and personality and.... life. I live in the same place with the same friends and the same boyfriend as back then and I still wear hats with ears for goodness sake!!!.
This does quite worry me. How do I suddenly become a teacher and not a student? How on earth do I pull this off?
I feel like time has gone so fast, but I have remained the same. I feel like it has caught up with me, tapped me on the shoulder and said "ok, time for you to be a teacher now" and I am just like "wait, what, I am still just that student"
Do you ever feel like time is going too fast and catching up on you? Do you ever think that you should have changed and grown more in a space of time but you have remained the same?
I honestly cannot believe this time has come, for me to return to school from the other side.

Chi Chi London Wishlist

20 Aug 2013

Hey Everyone!
I have been invited by etailPR blogger network to enter a Chi Chi blogger competition for a chance to win 200 pounds to spend on the beautiful dresses at Chi Chi London. Participants must create a wishlist type post including items from Chi Chi. To find out more visit the Chi Chi website here and the etailPR blog post about this competition here

I had not heard about Chi Chi London before but was pleasantly surprised when I checked out their website to find a huge selection of amazing and unique dresses for all occasions. I found it rather difficult to create this wishlist as to be honest, I wished for everything! there was nothing I didn't like. However, I did manage to narrow it down to these four absolute beauties...

1.This mint skater dress with a beautiful daisy detailing around the bust is just the epitome of cuteness in my eyes. Mint and daisies? I'm sold. This dress is probably my favourite of the bunch, it is very much 'me' and I could definitely see myself wearing something like this for my graduation.

2. I think this royal blue maxi prom dress is so gorgeous. There are so many beautiful prom dresses on Chi Chi London, it was very hard for me to pick only one. I LOVE the simplicity of this dress with the gorgeous sparkly neck to make it interesting. I wish I had found this website when I was preparing for my prom/debs but I could definitely see myself wearing this dress to a college ball.

3. OK I think I might be in love with this dress too. It looks like it would be very flattering and figure hugging. It looks amazing quality, like all of their dresses. How cute would this be with a little blazer and heels for I night out?! Ahhh *begins to dream

4. Last but not least is this navy beauty. Very similar shape to the previous one, I definitely need more dresses like this. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the design of this dress, its so elegant and classy, I love the scalloped hemline aswell. Just perfect.

So there you have it! My four favourite dresses from Chi Chi London. If you're looking for a dress for a special occasion (or just like looking at pretty dresses) then you should definitely go check out the link to their website I provided.
Also, If you wish to take part in this competition just simply go to my first two links.

My Autumn Fashion Must-Haves

17 Aug 2013

Hey Everyone!
So sadly summer is coming to an end (sob) the nights are getting long and everyone's preparing to go back to school/college. This summer has been surprisingly amazing, with that beautiful heatwave in  July that I long for these days whilst I dread the looong cold, dark winter ahead. But firsts there's AUTUMN yay! hopefully, it will lean more towards the summer heat than the winter chill, either way, I love Autumn. I love how pretty the trees look when they're losing their leaves, the autumn twilight, the calm weather, the still water, I just love the whole atmosphere of Autumn but I can't quite pin-point what that atmosphere is!
Anyways, onto the actual point of this post - I also love Autumn fashion, I love how they're more snugly than summer yet lighter than winter, and of course I love the colour trends in autumn, even though most of the items I show as examples aren't really anything like 'autumny' colours! haha.
Nevertheless, I have been thinking about how I want to update my wardrobe for Autumn recently and thought I would share with you the type and styles of clothes I am planning to look out for, purchase, and 'rock' this Autumn!

First up is the T-Shirt Dress. Recently I have been really getting into wearing more casual dresses on an everyday basis and have fallen slightly in love with the t-shirt dress. They are simple, comfortable and casual enough to wear down to the shops but yet look effortlessly stylish and classy. I really really want to get more of these for autumn and pair them with tights or leggings and maybe a knitted cardigan. They will be just perfect for college in my opinion!

OK so I'm probably a bit late on the bang wagon with these but I am really starting to love the Slogan Tees and have no idea how I don't own a single one. You will probably notice from this blog post that I do have quite a 'boyish' or 'varsity' style so these t-shirts are right up my street! I love the statement they make and honestly I just think people who wear them are cool. Haha. I especially love the NERD or GEEK tees but haven't seen any in the shops, I will be keeping my eyes peeled!

OK admittedly this is kind of an iffy one for me. I am a skinny jeans/leggings kind of girl and would usually never dream of wearing anything else as they seem to be the most flattering. But recently I have been eyeing up this style of trousers and quite like them. I like how they are still narrow at the bottom and are just a bit baggy around the waist. I really want to at least try a pair of these on to see how they look, I think I need to try being a little more adventurous with my bottoms and this might be just the way! Hopefully I will be brave enough to wear these this Autumn. What do you think of them? should I stay away?
Well I am a scarf addict so this one is a given. Every Autumn/Winter scarves are my must have accessory for me and this Autumn will be no different. Weirdly, during the summer I have actually missed wearing scarves, not that I wanted it to be cold again but they are just so pleasing to me, all the different colours and patterns aaahhh. Scarves are just such a noticeable part of an outfit, they're such a statement and I will probably spend far too much money on them this Autumn yet again *sigh*

Another thing I am addicted to every Autumn/Winter are Knitted Jumpers. They're so warm, cozy, practical and fashionable, I just loves them! I am definitely planning on investing in some pastel colour ones for this Autumn (I know that's more of a spring colour, but I just loves pastel ones! especially mint) One thing is for sure, I can never have too many of these gems throughout the colder months!

OK yes these may be a bit old news too, and not very exciting but I really like them, they are so my kind of style and I just think they're gorgeous. I already have one with leather sleeves which I LOVE and wear to death but I really want to get just a plain khaki one for this autumn. They match the style of most things in my wardrobe so why not?!

Last but not least, my beloved ankle boots. I have also missed wearing these in the summer and felt sad for them sitting alone in my closet unworn (yeah I'm sad!) I'm kind of short so I really hate full length boots and how them make me look like a complete midget, so for me, these are perfect. Warm, comfy and oh so stylish, they are definitely a must-have in my Autumn wardrobe - must find more!

Wow, this was sort of a long blog post with a lot of ranting and raving and lusting over my Autumn fashion loves. If I am lucky enough to find some nice things from these categories I will be sure to show you and let you know where I got them.
What are your Autumn fashion must-haves? let me know in the comments!

My First Time

3 Aug 2013

Hey Everyone!
The 'My First Time' tag has been travelling around YouTube ever since Sprinkle of Glitter created it so I decided to create a blog tag of the same nature! I have seen this on someone else's blog recently but can't for the life of me remember who's it was, if it was you let me know in the comments :)
I thought that this would be a fun way for you to get to know me a bit better and for me to get to know the people I tag! So here it goes...

The Rules:

  • You must share the following firsts and give the story or the context behind them.
  • You must Tag 10 other bloggers to do to the tag.
  • No tag backs

First Best Friend -

My first best friend was my Mum's friends daughter Melissa who was a year younger than me and my first best friend in school was a girl called Valerie who I met on our first day at school, her mom thought my mom was the teacher and started asking her questions. I stayed good friends with them both right up to secondary school where we then grew apart a bit but I still keep in contact with them to this day.

First Kiss -

My first kiss was when I was 14 at a teenage disco. I didn't like the guy at all but I wanted to kiss him because everyone else had kissed a boy and I felt like the odd one out. It was absolutely disgusting and I couldn't understand why everyone made such a big deal about it. Ugh really wish I didn't do that!

First Concert -

The first concert I went to was an Irish band called Six who won the Irish popstars. I was their biggest fan. Needless to say, they broke up about a year later and never 'made it'

First Celebrity Crush -

You may not know him but my first celebrity crush was the footballer Jason McIntyre who played for Ireland, and Sunderland I think. I was hopelessly in love with him. I cut out every photo of him from newspapers and kept them in a scrapbook. I was 8.

First Word -

I asked my parents and apparently my first word was Dada. Awh cute.

First Pet -

My first pet was a dog called Brownie. He was actually around before I was born and died when I was three so I remember very little about him. After that I had a dog called Eamon who I remember a lot of. I used to try and make him believe that I was a dog too by barking and walking around on all fours. Cringe.

First Job -

I have yet to get my first job! I'm too busy with college for a job and in the summer it is impossible to get one!

First Phone -

My first phone I got on my 11th birthday, it was the Nokia 3210i and I thought it was absolutely amazing. I still remember my surprise and delight at receiving it and finally being all cool with a mobile.

First Tweet -

I looked it up and my first tweet was "I have finally succumbed to the lure of twitter" - relevant I guess :)

First Make-Up -

Until relevantly recently I have been completely rubbish when it came to make-up. Like so bad, I had no clue. My first make-up item was when I was 12. I was a bridesmaid for my sister so I bought an eye shadow for that. My eyes stung the entire day because obviously I wasn't used to it. It was one of those pot eye shadows by Bourjois I beleive. For some reason I thought it was a good idea to get the same colour as my dress.

And that's it! I hope you don't mind these more chit chatty blog posts. I personally love them because I'm nosey and find it a great way to get to know all of you guys :) If I have tagged you and you decide to do it, then please leave the link to your blog post so I can have a nose ;)

Whats on my nails? | Marshmallow Heaven

1 Aug 2013

Hey Everyone!
A quick post today because I am absolutely wrecked! I plan on catching up on Home and Away and then getting an early night! (I'm such fun) but I have just been waiting for my bed all day.
I just thought I would first share with you a nail varnish I am really loving these days. Its Rimmel I love lasting finish in Marshmallow Heaven. Its one of my favourite pastels that I own and I think its a really lovely purple colour. It lasts for around 4 days without chipping which isn't bad considering they're only about 4 quid!
So if you are looking for a nice purple colour then I recommend this to you! and if you're not looking for one, then nevermind :)
Also, I am looking for a a good base and top coat as I would like my polish to last longer than it does with the current products I'm using, so if you have any recommendations please let me know in the comments, thankies!
Hope you're having a great evening,
