August Beauty Wishlist

"Zest is the secret of all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without zest" - Christian Dior

Hey Everyone!
There are quite a few make-up products I am lusting after these days and I am hoping to pick up most of them over the course of next month. I am really eager to expand my make-up collection and to find some new HG products.
  1. Real Techniques blush brush - I have recently purchased the expert face brush and I absolutely love it, It is amazing the difference it makes to my foundation application and I am dying to try out some other brushes by this much raved about brand.First on my list is the blush brush. Blush and contouring is probably my favourite make-up step because I think when it is done well it can complete a look, making you look flawless and polished. Hopefully this brush will help with that. - 12.99euro
  2. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - I am sure you have all heard the hype about this product, or you have probably tried it for yourself, I, sadly haven't and I really want to! I am currently using the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer which isn't great for covering blemishes (which, unforchanetly, I really need!) so I am putting a lot of faith in this product due to the hype surrounding it, it better not disappoint! 6.49euro
  3. Soap and Glory Love at first blush - As I've said before, I love blushers and this one pleases me greatly, just look at it! how can you not love the adorable packaging and the beautiful colours? I love mosaic blushers and I have heard that this one works as a highlighter too. Sounds perfect to me! 15.50euro
  4. Bourjois Delice de Poudre bronzer - I don't really wear bronzers, mostly because I haven't found a great one. But I have heard great things about this one and I am very much intrigued. If it's good I would be open to using bronzers regularly to help contour my face! Also, I just love how it looks like a chocolate bar - adorable! 8.99euro
  5. Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Blueberry I saw this nail polish on Zoella in one of her recent videos and I fell in love with it there and then. I HAVE to have it. Its such an amazing vibrant blue, I am just dying to try it. 5.99euro
Have you used any of these products? If so I would love if you let me know in the comments what you think of them :)
If I do get any of this stuff you're sure to hear about it ;)
Thanks for reading!

My Favourite ASOS dresses by colour

30 Jul 2013

Hey Friendies!
So I love browsing ASOS, especially their dresses. They have such a wide and varied selection which cover all styles and budgets. In total they have over 2000 dresses on their site.
I thought I would share with you some of my favourite dresses from some different colour categories, because lets face it, if I didn't put this structure in force my list would be endless!
I also thought this would be a fun way for you all to get an idea of the style I go for. I absolutely love dresses and am obsessed with buying new ones even though I don't get to wear them as often as I'd like. As you can see I am a huge skater dress girl and am a lover of funky patterns.
Do you like to shop on ASOS?
Do you like any of the dresses I have chosen? which one is your favourite?
Also I would like to know, are you the kind of person who only wears certain colours or are you open to the whole rainbow?

Spain Part 2 | Barcelona Day Trip

29 Jul 2013

Hey Friends!
This is the second in my 3 part series documenting my holiday in Spain. To see Part one click here.
On Monday July 15th myself and my boyfriend Denis, his step sister Louise and her boyfriend Craig decided to take the train from Salou up along the coast to visit the beautiful city of Barcelona. This was one part of my trip I had been really looking forward to due to its strong cultural and historical background.
The train journey was 1 hour and 15 minutes taking us to Sants train station, Barcelona. Here we got terribly confused because we knew we were far from the heart of the city and didn't have a clue how to get there! after a quite stressful hour trying to find out what metro to get (nobody seemed to speak English) we eventually made it to the city centre where I was immediately overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the architecture to be seen. Every single building was astounding in its own right. Even shops looked incredible.
Since we had no idea where we were or where to go we decided to take a trip on the tour bus, which brought us all around the amazing city, showing us the many attractions. Despite us all nearly dying with the heat (it was 37 degrees) we all were fascinated by the city. Here are some of the photos I took of the day.

One of the many streets in Barcelona.

Street performers behind Sagrada Familia.
Combination of both traditional and modern architecture.
We saw the beaches in Barcelona as well as the beautiful marina which had literally hundreds of boats.

I'm really glad we took the day out from chilling by the pool to see Barcelona. It was well worth it and I would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area!
Have you been to Barcelona, would you like to go?

Spain Haul!

27 Jul 2013

Hey All!
I didn't do all that much shopping while I was in Spain. I spent most of the time in Salou just chilling by the pool and relaxing. Whereas Barcelona was just so huge the idea of going shopping, or even trying to find shops seemed overwhelming, plus I was with two men who would have had no interest in tagging along the shops with me! I did pick up a couple of things though and thought I should share them with you all as everyone seems to love a good ol' haul :)

I got this black leather jacket from Vera Moda and I love it. I have been looking for a nice, relatively inexpensive one forever but they all seem to be annoyingly short and I can't understand why they make them like that! but this one is just right, doesn't gather up and is a lovely fit, plus it was only 35euro!

I got this bag from a little boutique in Sants train station in Barcelona. I love it, its such a vibrant statement colour, I love the make and size of it and its got lots of very useful pockets, It looks great quality in my opinion, I was shocked that it was only 15euro.

The next things I got were these scarves, I found them in a random store in Salou. I am a sucker for scarves and I always wear them to uni in the winter, sometimes it can be really hard to find nice ones for less than 15euro and don't get me wrong, I love Primarks ones but I feel like everyone has them. So at just 3.50 each I just had to snap up these two and now I am really regretting not getting like 10 more as I seem to get bored of scarves pretty quick.

I got these adorable bracelets also at a random shop in Salou (sorry! they have the same in Primark) I love this style of bracelet and I haven't taken them off since :)

Finally, Oh my god you guys I got a Real Technique brush! eek! so much excitement for a damn make-up brush! I have been wanting to try out Real Technique brush forever and I honestly don't know what was stopping me, I was planning on getting the core collection kit but I seen so many positive reviews of this Expert Face Brush that I decided on this instead. So far I love it and I definitely plan on purchasing more from the range, the starter kit is a certainty, have you got any recommendations for me? I would love to know!

So that's everything I got  :) I hope you enjoyed my first ever haul post, would you like to see more in the future?

Quote of the Week #2

24 Jul 2013

Time and time again I find myself depending on the people in my life to make me happy. If they upset me or treat me badly, or if I upset them, I become consumed by it, I become sad, irritable and sometimes angry. I feel like I will never be content again until the bridges are fixed and the relationship is mended to its former glory. I will sit around for days moping, waiting for them to either apologize, forgive me, or just simply start acting normal towards me again. I let my whole mood be influenced by other people and this quote shows that this is not a healthy way to live.Obviously it's OK to become upset when things get difficult with people who are important to you but I think once in a while we need to step back and realize that the only person who can truly make you happy is you. Happiness is a choice only you can make. We can chose to sit around depressed, thinking that we can't be happy until our friends starts talking to us again and we have them back in our lives, or we can put ourselves first, we can choose to smile and go out and do the things we love because the sad reality is everyone is going to hurt you, people are selfish. They will be mean to you if they want to be, if they want to get a point across your feelings are irrelevant. So we should just put ourselves first, love ourselves and find our own happiness, if we are waiting for others to make us happy we will all be waiting a long time.

I Heart Summer TAG

23 Jul 2013

I seen this tag on Lollys Nail Paints and thought the questions were really interesting and in the spirit of summer I decided to give it a whirl! You should all check out Lauren's blog while you're here, it's fantastic!

1. Favourite bronzer for summer?
To be honest I never really use a bronzer in summer! I like to stick to just foundation and blusher :)

2. You're relaxing on a hammock on a tropical island, what would you be sipping on?

A cocktail! preferably a 'sex on the beach' or a 'strawberry daquiri' nummy!

3. Favourite summer lipstick?

Rimmel lipstick, kate moss matte shade 16. its a lovely light pink/coral colour - perfect for summer and lasts ages!

4. Pool or beach

Pool for sure, I hate how dirty the beach can be, you get sand everywhere, the water can be dirty, there's rocks and seaweed and I hate the taste of sea-water, yuck!! If a pool had waves I'd be happy :)

5. Summer = crazy hair, whats your must have styling product?

I always use the Toni and Guy sea salt spray. I just spritz it on my damp hair, scrunch it up and it gives me structured beachy waves! win!

6. Sun bathing or fake tanning?

Neither, obviously sun bathing is bad for you but I also hate using fake tan, it seems like so much effort! I always end up with black hands, a streaky tan and brown clothes...eugh!

7. Favourite summer nail polish?

I love pastels for summer! right now I am adoring Barry M Peach Melba which you can see in my previous blog post.

8. Any summer traditions?

I used to go camping with friends every summer, but were not doing it this year. I guess one thing I have done every summer of my life is go to a horse racing festival in Galway, which will be on next week :)

9. Favourite summer scent?

I love Jimmy Choo and Burberry Brit....they are beautiful!

10. Favourite BBQ food?

Oh I love bbq, I will eat anything barbeque'd I especially love burgers, chicken wings, chicken legs, skewers, and well...everything :P

11. Favourite summer proof make-up?

BB cream! I love L'Oreal's BB cream - its so much lighter for summer than foundation and contains spf which is a bonus :)

12. Any summer vacations planned?

I have just come back from summer vacation to Spain and it was brilliant, I had been looking forward to it for a long time and am kinda sad it's over now and I don't have something else to look forward too!

I TAG:
A Bit Graceful
RazMaTaz-Girl
Dee's Beautiful Life
LouLouBella
Cocktails and Daydreams
Ring a round a Rosey
T-Shirts and Tea
Away with the fairies
Alice the Camel
Smudges of Thought

Spain Part 1 | Hello Salou!

22 Jul 2013

Hey Everyone!
You may have noticed that I haven't blogged in quite some time, the reason being, I have been in Spain for the past week! yay yay yay! I really enjoyed my time there, and I look back now with a tinge of sadness that it has all ended but I am so excited to document the highlights of it here and share my adventure with all of you guys!
I went to Salou with my boyfriend and nine of his family members for his mothers birthday (she didn't know we were going so we had to keep it a secret for the weeks leading up to it, and she was very suprised to see us all at the airport!)
I want to start by thanking my boyfriend Denis (who I know sometimes checks my blog) for kindly paying for my ticket, taking me with him, and including me as part of his family, I love you!
I thought I would break my holiday up into three parts rather than having one big blog post. So this is part one, about my first three days in Salou, Spain.

Day 1 - Friday July 12th

When Our room was ready, this was the view out the balcony.
We flew out of Dublin airport at 7am on Friday morning. I hadn't flown in years so I was feeling slightly nervous, it all went well though, apart from some seriously painful ear popping and throat pain upon descending. But my excitement to be in Spain soon overcame that!

By the time we got to the hotel we were all wrecked. I had only slept 2 hours that night, but we had to wait for our rooms to be ready. We sat at the pool bar and James (my boyfriends cousin) and I went for a quick swim.

Denis, James and I then decided to go for a walk to find out where the center of the town, and the beach were, it was about a 10-15 minute walk from our hotel Sol Costa Daurada.
That night, the entire group of us went for dinner together, to a restaurant called Capri along the beach front. The only picture of that I got was this nummy ice-cream.

Our first night ended in and Irish Pub, where I felt like I was right back home again...whoops.

Day 2 - Saturday July 13th
On Saturday, Denis and I spent most of the day alone together, which was really nice and looking back, was the only day we did that, which is a bit of a shame, but ah well! We walked into town and had a look around the various stalls and markets. We got some fancy ice-cream (again) in an ice-cream restaurant.

Following this, we took a walk to the pier at the end of the beach, which was full of lovely boats. We then took our shoes off and walked up along the shoreline.

Day 3 - Sunday July 14th
This is the day Denis and I sat out on sunbeds by the pool for hours where I got a relatively awesome tan, and Denis turned into a glowing red tomato. Seriously, it was bad! Girls, always remember to use sun block!
This was also the day of Denis' Mum's birthday so we all went out for dinner and drinks that night in celebration.

After dinner, Denis, his little sister Chelsea and I took a walk to the beach and we took pictures by the beautiful fountain located on the promenade. The fountain was one of my favourite things in Salou. It is constantly changing shapes and colours and looks so beautiful.

And that was my first three days in sunny Salou in a nutshell! Stay tuned for Part 2 | Barcelona Day trip ;)
Did you go on holidays this year? or are you going? let me know in the comments!

A Wonderful Summer's Day

9 Jul 2013

Hey Everyone!
Its reaching up to 30 degrees celcius here in Ireland these days and let me tell you, we rarely ever get such amazing weather! We're having a heatwave for the foreseeable future and I intend to make the most of it! (bbq today yay)
Yesterday was really really fun, i headed off to the beach with my sister and her 3 kids where we stayed for the guts of an hour and a half, we had a little picnic in our tent and enjoyed fun in the clear, warm water. Mark, my 1 year old nephew absolutely loved being in the water and was laughing the entire time - too sweet. When we came home I went to stay at my sisters where my nieces continued to enjoy the sweltering heat on their water slide. Finally, when the little ones were gone to sleep (didn't take them long after such a busy day) my sister and I stayed outside until 12 (when it was still amazingly 22c) with a bottle of wine and chatted the night away.
Why can't everyday of summer be like this?
Here are some pics of the day. Sorry for the extremely photo heavy post today, I hope you don't mind! I just like to document all kinds of my adventures and memories on here :)

What is the weather like where you are at the moment? What do you like to get up to on really hot days? Let me know in the comments! :)

What's in my travel make-up bag?

7 Jul 2013

Hey Everyone!
I have been away this weekend and thought it would be fun to show you what was in the make up bag I took with me. When I go away I try to pack as light as I can and just bring what I need, so these are my bare essentials. I didn't Include my Make-Up Brushes or my Naked 2 palette which I also brought, because I left them at my sister's and technically, they weren't in the make-up bag anyway ;)

  • Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder
  • N.Y.C Mosaic Face Powder - Rose Glow

NOTD | Barry M Nail Confetti

4 Jul 2013

Hey Friendies!
Today there was a buy one get second half price offer on in boots so I couldn't help myself. Oopsies.
Not going to lie, It took me ages to choose a colour, I was torn between this, a light blue, a light green and lychee but I'm kinda obsessed with orange lately so I went for this 'Peach Melba' (4.59 euro) its such a nice, creamy, pastel peach, I loves it lots.
I thought I'd try out the nail confetti because I don't really have any nail decoration stuff?! whatever, that's called! I chose 'Dolly Mixture' (5.99 euro) which has got little pastel blue, yellow, green and white flecks. I think it's so cute,  it reminds me of ice cream sprinkles. Actually, sweets and ice-cream is all I think of when I look at my nails now! The colours are so pretty together, I can't handle the cuteness of them :)
I don't think I'll be able to resist the urge to try out different combinations of graffiti and nail paint, I plan on getting the green confetti next, I'll be sure to show you here!
Do you like nail artsy stuff? Or do you prefer to keep it simple?
